Auburn
Auburn was established in 1848 by gold miners and the merchants and tradesmen that soon followed. Auburn was a natural hub for collecting gold from the surrounding area and shipping it to Sacramento and San Francisco.
Auburn has three distinct areas. Old Town, or Lower Town, is the oldest part of Auburn and many of the structures date back over two hundred years.
Downtown, or Upper Town, is still old and has historic buildings but does not date back as far as Old Town. Both Old Town and Down Town have boutique shops and many choices to eat.
North Auburn is your typical urbanized area that almost every town has. Take some time to wander the streets of Old Town and Downtown if you have never been here before.
Eateries
I can vouch for every one of these locations as I have eaten at all of them.
